Safety Officer Of W.B.A.C.
I have
been a member of the club for a very long time now and as safety officer for 5
years. The club has a safety record second to none, the skills and know how the
members have is priceless which they are more than happy to pass on to new
members.
I have seen a number of safety officers, who in turn have put there
own mark and changes all to improve safety, with all the new technology mobile
phones, plotters & digital radio that transmits your position
automatically in an emergency by the push of a button all helps for
safety.
On the 1st May each year all boats have to have a safety ticket, this
ticket allows you to enter all club competitions that are very well attended. It
is also needed for you to purchase your club discounted slipway permit to launch
at Victoria road slipway.
I also do the R.N.L.I safety check which has no
pass or fail just friendly advice, I can combine the W.B.A.C. safety check with
the R.N.L.I. check.
